Successful inauguration at Milan of Carlo Cracco's new restaurant. Yesterday it opened its doors in the centre of Italy's most gastronomic metropolis, in via Victor Hugowhere for years its historic "Cracco Peck'..
A sort of return to his roots for Italy's best-loved chef from Vicenza? Who knows. The fact is that the new Milanese restaurant, named 'Charles and Camilla in the Cathedral', was born a few days after the 'divorce' with Lapo at Garage Italia.
The smiling photo of big Cracco appeared on social media with the chef at the entrance of the restaurant and the comment: 'A new place in town'.
But what is the identity of this new place? A bistro but also a bar, a space for aperitifs, which will make use of Gabriele Faggionato, the chef who was at Garage Italia and now returns to Cracco's team. A place that will see, on the ground floor, bars and tables, while below there will be the restaurant proper, with three rooms and a long 'social' table, following the leitmotif of 'Charles and Camilla in the sawmill'Cracco's other venue.
Easy and gourmet cuisine, for an underground but classy, pleasant and uncluttered ambience, where you can spend time for breakfast, aperitifs and dinner.
A "pop" turn for the starred chef, starting with the dishes, including "ironic menus", "Fashion Week menus", "the Imbruttito", "the Biodiverso", "the Palestrato", tasteful and desecrating gastronomic itineraries, sarcastic and ironic, full of that sense of humour that reminds us that in the end, food is a pleasant social game.
